Jojo spends a lot of time in the kitchen. She shows her love and care with cookies. Here are a few of her favorite recipe’s:

Jojo’s Snickerdoodle Tease

Snickerdoodles are sweet, chewy and tangy. They feature a crust of savory cinnamon and sweet sugar. It makes sense these unique cookies are Jojo’s ultimate fave!

Wet ingredients:
3/4 Cup Shortening
1/4 Cup Butter
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
2 eggs
Bring ingredients to room temperature and mix well using a standing or hand mixer, then set aside.

Mix together dry ingredients:
2 3/4 Cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon Salt
After combining dry ingredients add slowly to wet ingredients until blended.

Mix together 1/3 cup of sugar and 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon in a small bowl.

Separate dough into Tablespoon sized balls and roll the balls in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place two inches apart on ungreased baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Voila! Cookies sure to tempt that sexy guy next door!

Emily’s Favorite Toffee Squares
(nuts optional)

These little bundles of joy are rich, sweet, and highly addictive!

Wet Ingredients:
1 Cup Butter (room temperature)
1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 Egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Using a standing mixer or a hand mixer combine att wet ingredients and set aside.

Dry Ingredients:
2 Cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix together dry ingredients and add to wet ingredients until well blended.

*Reserve for later: 3-4 chocolate bars (broken into squares) and chopped nuts (optional)

Spread dough into a rectangle on greased baking sheet. Leave at least 1″ around edge of pan. For a more cake-like cookie spread dough in a greased 9X13 casserole dish.
Bake 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cookie should be golden and soft. Remove from oven and immediately place separated squares of chocolate on top. The residual heat will melt the chocolate. Once soft, spread the chocolate over the surface of the cookie. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts. Once cooled (but still slightly warm), cut into small squares.

Hardy’s Hated Oatmeal Jumbles

While Jojo enjoys the sweet, crunchy blend of chocolate, cherries and toffee, Hardy prefers his cookies be more straightforward.

Wet Ingredients:
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup sugar
——-cream together then mix in:
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Mix together dry Ingredients:
1 1/2 Cups All purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 rounded teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
Add to wet ingredients.

Jumble ingredients: (mix one at a time into dough):
3 cups quick oats
2/3 Cup chopped dried cherries
1/3 cup toffee bits (or chopped nuts)
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2″ apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for approximately 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
